Linda S. Thye, age 78, of Fort Madison, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024. She was born in February 1946, a daughter of Nina F. Carr (nee Zimmerman) and Russell E. Carr.
After graduating from Fort Madison High School, Linda worked at Sylvania in Burlington and Sheaffer Pen in Fort Madison, before becoming a homemaker and raising her family. After sending her three children to the University of Iowa, she attended beauty school and worked as a beautician for several years. Linda enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, ceramics, and watching scary movies. She was of the Methodist Faith.
She is survived by three children: son Shane R. (wife Dana) Thye, of Blythewood, South Carolina; son, Kelly W. (wife Leslie) Thye, of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter Shannon S. Thye of Iowa City, Iowa; four grandchildren (Avery, Lauren, Madelynn, and Logan); and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ronnie Carr and sister Sherilyn Kamp.
No formal service are planned at this time.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Thye family.  A memorial has been established for P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter, contributions may be made through Barr Memorial Chapel.
