Obituary

Lyla Louise (Albers) Tubbs Foglesong, 90 years, of Dallas City, IL, died at 4:24 pm Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Oak Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Stronghurst, Illinois. She was born March 22, 1921 at Fort Madison, Iowa a daughter of Earl W. II and Irma (Hayes) Albers. On August 2, 1941, she married Bill Tubbs. He preceded her in death May 18, 1974. On April 14, 1983, she married Jesse F. Foglesong, Sr. in Linton, Indiana. He survives.

She lived most of her life in the Fort Madison area, until moving to Dallas City, Illinois in 1983. She worked at N.W. Bell Telephone for seven years, Dr. Shivley's office for two years and Gleasons for four years. She has been an active bowler since 1959. She was a member of the Pontoosuc Community Church, Dallas City, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse F. Foglesong, Sr., of Dallas City, Illinois; two sons, Dennis (wife Ellie) Tubbs, of Carthage, Illinois and Roy Tubbs, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one daughter, Marlene (husband George) Walters, of Dallas City, Illinois; three grandsons, one granddaughter, two great grandsons and two great great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Bill, one son, Gary Tubbs, two brothers, William E. Albers and Melvin Albers and one sister, Vera Jean Albers.

The family will meet friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Paul Smith, officiating. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established for the Pontoosuc Community Church contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
