Obituary

Maejean Lee Danover, 78 years, of West Point, Iowa, died at 1:50 AM Friday, December 10, 2010 at Blair House Nursing and Rehab., Burlington, Iowa. She was born May 8, 1932 at Augusta, Iowa, a daughter of Arthur "Pappy" and Mary Louise (Schirmer) Staub. On February 7, 1953, she married John Danover at the Union Presbyterian Church, Fort Madison, Iowa. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the area. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, West Point. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, going to auctions, and coffee shop visiting.

She is survived by 2 sons: Randy (Tammy) Danover, of Marion, Iowa and Rick (Lynne) Danover, of Davenport, Iowa; one sister, Maxine Taylor Green, of Burlington, Iowa; five 5 grandchildren: Justin, Jeremy, Jacquelyn, Nicholas, and Ashley; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Friends may call after 1:00 pm Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home where the family will greet friends from 6:00 - 7:00 pm Monday evening. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at the Barr-Holtkamp Funeral Home, with Pastor Dean Graber, officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, rural Fort Madison, Iowa.

A memorial has been established for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, contributions may be made at the Barr- Holtkamp Funeral Home, 412 Ave C, P.O. Box 247, West Point, Iowa 52656.
