Obituary

Marian F. Hall, 91 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Sunday evening, August 18, 2013 at her home. She was born July 25, 1922 in Forker, Missouri, a daughter of Daniel and Janice (Hamill) Cole. On September 5, 1943, she married Charles M. Hall at Kansas City, Missouri. They were married 57 years.

Marian was a 1940 graduate of Forker Community High School. She was a homemaker and also taught preschool for the Jaycettes at the St. John's United Church of Christ for many years. She was a member of the Fort Madison United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school for nearly 50 years and was in charge of the acolytes. She received the Governor's Volunteer Award for reading to students at Richardson School. She enjoyed ceramics and collected dolls and Santas.

She is survived by three daughters: Jan (husband Jack) Moore, Barbara Godby, and Debby Murphy, all of Fort Madison, Iowa; one sister, Helen (husband Max) Hillenkamp, of Greeley, Colorado; five grandchildren: Barbara (husband Dave) Lesniak, of Lemont, Illinois; Ashley Godby, of Los Angeles, California; Elizabeth (husband Mitch) Williamson, of Maumelle, Arkansas; Emily (husband Jef) Blohm, of Maumelle, Arkansas: and Katherine Frazier, of Maumelle, Arkansas; and one great grandson Ian Murphy, of Downers Grover, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Cindy Frazier, one brother Eldon Cole, and one grandson Alan Murphy.

Her body has been cremated. Her family will greet friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial service will follow and be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 31, 2013 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa, with Reverend Lanette Van officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Laclede Cemetery, Laclede Missouri. A Marian Hall Scholarship Fund is being established, and contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa.
