Mary Ann Colvin, 74 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 7:50 pm Sunday August 4, 2013 at Great River Klein Center, West Burlington, Iowa. She was born November 16, 1938 at Wever, Iowa, a daughter of Charles Henry Jr. and Avis Elva Pearl (Rickles) Ireland. On November 18, 1962, she married Robert Dee Colvin.
She has been a resident of Fort Madison most of her life. She worked at Sheaffer Pen and as a cook for the Fort Madison Health Center. She loved doing puzzles, puzzle books and sewing. She was of the Protestant Faith.
She is survived by her two sons: Scott (fiancé Alice) Colvin, of Burlington, Iowa; Jeffrey (wife Barbara) Colvin, of Lowden, Iowa; one daughter, Mona Carr, of Dublin, Georgia; one sister, Laura Stoneburner, of Burlington, Iowa; seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Jim and Harvey.
Her family will greet friends from 6:00 - 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison. A funeral service will be held 10:30 am Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, with Reverend John Simpson. Burial will be held at the Claypoole Cemetery, rural Wever, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.
