Maxine E. Coleman, 91 years, of Burlington, Iowa died at 6:30 am Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at her home. She was born November 13, 1925, in Galesburg, Illinois a daughter of Edward and Elvera (Herslow) Alliman. On December 6, 1942, she married Karl L. Coleman in West Point, Iowa. He preceded her in death.
Maxine attended school in Wayland and West Point, Iowa. She worked for 8 years as an inspector at Sylvania. Later she worked at the front desk at Holiday Inn for 20 years.
She is survived by one son, Karl Lyle (Renae) Coleman Jr., of Sperry, Iowa; three daughters: Linda Kay (Ed) Hills, of Carman, Illinois; Carol Annette Coleman and Rebecca S. Sierra, both of Burlington, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister.
Her family will greet friends from 12:00 - 1:00 pm, Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa. Her funeral service will follow and begin at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 1, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Dean Graber officiating. Burial will be at Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa. In lieu of flowers her family requests memorials contributions, which may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
