Michael E. Davis, 58 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 3:51 am Wednesday, December 23, 2015. He was born June 24, 1957 in Burlington, Iowa, a son of Wayne Eugene and Martha Louise (Rice) Davis. In 1979, he married Susan E. Ledbetter in San Diego, California.

Mike worked as a power plant engineer at the Iowa State Penitentiary for 30 years. He attended Fort Madison Senior High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He loved his Harley motorcycle and working on his yard, but he especially loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Susan E. Davis of Fort Madison, Iowa; one son, Frank J Davis (girlfriend Deanna Armstrong) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one daughter, Christine L. Davis of San Antonio, Texas; his mother, Martha Louise Davis of West Point, Iowa; one brother, Douglas (Tracey) Davis of West Point, Iowa; three sisters: Cheryl Huffman of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; Kathy (Richard) Nelson of Fort Madison, Iowa; and Karen Wixom of Burlington, Iowa; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

Visitation will be held 3:00 - 4:00 pm Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services, Fort Madison, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, December 28, 2015 at the funeral home, with Reverend Jim Hofmann officiating. Burial with military rites will be at Denmark Cemetery, Denmark, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
