Michael H. Osborn, 53 years, of Wever, Iowa died at 6:10 pm Sunday, August 21, 2011 at his home. He was born September 29, 1957 in Manhatten, New York, a son of Joseph H. and Carmen M. Osborn. He married Marjorie Caster in 1982 at Denmark, Iowa. They later divorced. Michael was a graduate of North Babylon High School on Long Island and the University of Iowa with a degree in marketing. He was an advertising representative for the Burlington Hawkeye, the Advertising Director at the Fort Madison Daily Democrat, an Advertising Representative for KTVO Television, Ottumwa, Iowa, and also worked for Building Materials, Fort Madison. For the past 14 years he has been a residential property appraiser for Osborn Appraisal Service. He enjoyed biking, bowling, volleyball, and softball and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He was a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, companion, and friend.
He is survived by his father, Joseph H. Osborn, of North Babylon, New York; two daughters, Jenny Osborn, of
Fort Madison, Iowa and Amy (husband Devin) McPherson, of Burlington, Iowa; two brothers, Charlie (wife Karla) Osborn, of Robins, Iowa and Joseph Jr. (wife Barbara) Osborn, of Plant City, Florida; three grandchildren: Alexia, Brandon, and Kaiden; two aunts, Nydia Monsequr, of Queens, New York and Emma Montilla, of Orlando, Florida, two nephews, Chris and Conner Osborn; one niece, Kristen Osborn; special friend, Sandy Messenger, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; and was an "adopted" son of the Maurice and Kay Helt Family, formerly of Denmark, now of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his mother.
Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. His family will greet friends from 3:00 - 4:00 pm Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ, Denmark. Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, August 26, 2011 at the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ, Denmark, Iowa, with Reverend Chad Savage, officiating. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel or at the church on the day of the services.
