Michael David Shaw, 50 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died Monday, May 16, 2016 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. He was born November 15, 1965 in Minnesota, a son of Nancy and Michael David Shaw Sr. On April 19, 2002, he married Yvette Hamilton. She survives.
Michael was a veteran of the United States Army. He lived in the Fort Madison area since 1996. He was a skilled laborer and did maintenance and construction work. He was a talented woodworker. He loved his animals, and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors. He was a Green Bay Packer fan. He was loved by many. He was especially proud of his son, Dakota, as well as his accomplishments and the time they spent together.
He is survived by his wife, Yvette Shaw, of Fort Madison, Iowa; three sons: Jonathan (Nichole) Lobberecht and Cody Parkin, both of Fort Madison, Iowa; and Dakota Shaw, of Keokuk, Iowa; two daughters, Angel O'Donnell, of St. Paul, Minnesota and Savahna (Ryan) Schmidt, of Stacy, Minnesota; his mother, Nancy Delva, of Splithand Lake, Minnesota; his step-mother, Joanne Shaw, of Kahoka, Missouri; two step brothers, Kenny (Kim) Yates and Kevin (Terrisa) Yates, both of Revere, Missouri; two step sisters, Pam (Terry) Broomhall, of Keokuk, Iowa and Sheila Yates, of Kahoka, Missouri; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and his mother/father-in-law, Roberta and John Hamilton, of Burlington, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father and step sister, Gina Wagner.
His body has been cremated. A private celebration of his life will held at a later date. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa.
