Michael Charles Underwood, 55 years, of Golaid, Texas, formerly of Fort Madison, Iowa, died July 12, 2012 at Golaid, Texas. He was born June 16, 1957 at Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Charles and Anna Marie (Gardner) Underwood.

Mike was a 1975 graduate of Fort Madison High School. He loved birdwatching and living the country life. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards with his friends.

He is survived by his parents, Charles and Anna Marie Underwood, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two brothers: Mark Underwood, of Nevada, Iowa and Edward (wife Ginny) Underwood, of Winfield, Illinois; three sisters: Connie William, of Portsmouth, Virginia, Susan Shultz, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Amy Saldeen, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles.

Cremation wishes have been accorded. Graveside services and burial will be 2:30 pm Thursday October 18, 2012 at the Gethsemane Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa. Reverend David Wilkening will officiate.
