Obituary

Monica Mae Moore, 62 years, of Fort Madison and formerly of Salem, Iowa, died at 4:31 pm on December 25, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa listening to her favorite music, by Willie Nelson, with her children by her side. She was born March 27, 1954 in Germany, a biological daughter of James Carlisle and Elsa Towkacz. She was adopted by Homer and Tena (Bacon) Stotts.

She was an avid fan of Willie Nelson and the St. Louis Cardinals. She worked for several years as a machine operator at the former Metromail, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Brent) Kubiak, of Macomb, Illinois; one son, Robert Moore, of Donnellson, Iowa; her biological father, James (Lois) Carlisle, of Texas; four brothers: Steve, Dan, and Garey Carlisle, all of Texas, and B.J. Lemon, of California; two sisters, Margret (John) McKee and Debbie Wagner, both of Texas; four step grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; and her cats, Max and Princess. She was preceded in death by her biological mother, Elsa, adoptive parents, Homer and Tena, and one brother Douglas Stotts.

Per her wishes, her body has been cremated. Her family will greet friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
