Nancy Lynne Kuhljuergen, 70 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died unexpectedly Friday, November 15, 2024 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, Fort Madison, Iowa.  She was born August 6, 1954, the daughter of Ira Jr. and Doris (Gutting) Johnson. She married Richard "Rick" Kuhljuergen, they had two children, Kaitlin and Evan.  They later divorced.

Nancy was a 1972 graduate of Fort Madison High School.  She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with a bachelor degree in Family and Consumer Science Education.  She taught home economics and health for more than 20 years at Harmony/Van Buren, New London, and other local schools.  She was a former member of the International Order of Kings Daughters and Sons.  She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and family time with her parents, who lived next door.  Nancy loved being a mom and was very supportive and active with her kids as they grew up.

She is survived by two children, Kaitlin (Christopher) Kemmerer of North Liberty, Iowa and Evan Kuhljuergen of Fort Madison; other family members and friends including her close friend, Carla Mansheim.  She is proceeded in death by her parents.

Her family will greet friends from 1:00 - 3:00 pm Sunday, November 24, 2024 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.  A graveside service and burial will be at 1:00 pm Monday, November 25, 2024 at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.  A memorial has been established, contributions may be left at the funeral home or the cemetery services.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Kuhljuergen family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
