Neil Allan Long, 73 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa passed at 9:36 am Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa.  Thank you to the Prayer Warriors at the Sunday 9:00 am church service for their prayers that morning, especially.   He was born January 30, 1951 at Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Dale Eugene and Georgia (Easterday) Long.  He graduated from Fort Madison High School in 1969.  He worked at Gleason Manufacturing and for the VA Hospital.

He is survived by one brother, Bill Long of Fort Madison, Iowa; one sister, Cheryl Kemp of Woodland, California, one aunt, Betty Easterday of Fort Madison, Iowa; nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held 10:00 - 10:30 am Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.  His funeral service will follow and begin at 10:30 am Thursday at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, with Pastor Steve Scott, officiating.  Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa.  A memorial has been established for PAWS Animal Shelter,  contributions may be left at Barr Memorial Chapel.   Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Long family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
