Neva J. Briggs, formerly of Fort Madison, Iowa died Friday, May 30, 2025 in Fishers, Indiana.  She was born September 17, 1926 in Marceline, Missouri, a daughter of Cecil R. and Della M. (Blake) Smith.

She graduated from Fort Madison High School.  She attended the University of Iowa for a year.  Later Neva went back to college where she received her Radiological Technology training from the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, and worked in the radiology field for 27 years.  She was an avid golfer and she enjoyed working in her flowers gardens.  Her favorite hobby was drawing and painting.  She was a member of the Fort Madison Christian Church, Fort Madison.

She is survived by one sister: Gwendolyn Groves, of Indianapolis, Indiana; two nephews and three nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Russell Smith and one sister Mary Margaret Farringer.

A grave side service and burial will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, June 27, 2025 at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa, with Reverend Mike McHugh officiating.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve Neva's family and an online guest book maybe found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
