Nina Marie VanWye, 91 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 10:19 am Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Kensington, Fort Madison, Iowa. She was born March 5, 1924 at Bucklin, Missouri, a daughter of Thomas and Nina (Sears) Fitzgerald. On August 3, 1946 she married Delbert Jackson VanWye at Marceline, Missouri. He preceded her in death.

She worked several places, including the Sheaffer Pen Company, the Anthes Corporation, and at Sacred Heart Hospital, but she retired from Chevron Chemical after 15 years of service. She enjoyed collecting recipes.

She is survived by one son, Randy (Kim Allen) VanWye, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one daughter, Rhonda (Terry) West, of Tampa, Florida; one sister, Ceola Holvey, of Borger, Texas; one grandson, Nathan (Ivana) West, of Tampa, Florida; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and one sister.

As per her wishes, her body has been cremated. Her family will greet friends at 1:00 pm Tuesday March 10, 2015, one hour before the funeral service at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services, Fort Madison. The funeral will be at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, Pastor Dean Graber will officiate. Private family burial will be at the Soldiers Circle, Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel and Cremation Services, Fort Madison.
