Patrick Joseph Perry Jr.  ("Joe," "Joe Mama," "Papa Bear," and "Grandpa")
The man of many names and hilarious wit has air guitared his way to the stairway to heaven Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026 at his home in Fort Madison, Iowa, surrounded by his long-time love.  He joins his Dad, Patrick Sr., brother Steve, best friend Roy Nerhus, grandbabies Gracie and Braxton, and many others gone too soon.

Born on October 5, 1958, in Fort Madison, the son of Patrick Sr. and Evelyn Perry.  He later became engaged to Faith Nerhus, with whom he shared 22 wonderful years.

An Iowa native, Joe held a special place in this heart for Texas, where he resided for many years.  A devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, and Texas Rangers, he loved sports, especially football Sundays.  Joe also enjoyed WWE wrestling and NASCAR.

He loved fishing, the outdoors, and grilling; often seen flipping chicken or steaks in any weather, wearing funny T-shirts.  Known for his laughter and easygoing nature, Joe cherished music - particularly rock and roll - and treasured time with family and grandkids.  He worked at Formad Warehouse for 20 years before retiring.

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn Perry; fiancee Faith Nerhus; daughter Ashlee (Shawn) Fuller; brother Fred and sister-in-law Kathryn; sisters Denise Mahoney and Teresa (Ed) Dohman; grandchildren: Joseph, Micheal, Colten, and Sophia Fuller; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Joe's laughter and spirit will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
