Pauline Mary Pieper, 83 years, of Wever, Iowa died at 6:35 pm Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the West Point Care Center, West Point, Iowa. Pauline was born March 31, 1927 in Houghton, Iowa a daughter of Fred and Vernoica (Menke) Bentler. On February 4, 1950 she married Henry Joseph Pieper in Houghton, Iowa. Pauline was a homemaker who also worked on the family farm. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Fort Madison.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Pieper, of Wever, Iowa; three daughters: Kathy (husband Bill) Real, of Montrose, Iowa; Judy (husband Mark) Hunold, of West Point, Iowa; and Beverly (husband Russell) Steffensmeier, of Donnellson, Iowa; three sons: Thomas (wife Suzanne) Pieper, of Flagstaff, Arizona; Karl (wife Sue) Pieper, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Craig (wife Shelly) Pieper, of Wever, Iowa; three sisters: Roselita Brown, of Meteorma, Illinois; Eileen Hellman, of Houghton, Iowa; Marcella (husband Frank) Arndt, of Fairfield, Iowa; two brothers: Gervase (wife Molly) Bentler, of Bonaparte, Iowa; Raymond (wife Marlene) Bentler, of Salem, Iowa; one sister-in-law: Barb Bentler, of Donnellson, Iowa; nineteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Alfonse Bentler.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Holy Family Parish, Ss. Mary & Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Madison, Iowa, with Father Mark Spring as Celebrant. Friends are invited to greet the family at a luncheon after mass at McAleer Hall. Private family burial will be at the Gethsemane Cemetery at a later date. Due to the Season of Lent, memorials for Holy Trinity Catholic Schools are requested in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel or the church the day of the service.
