Obituary

Robert Patrick "Pat" Griswold, 76 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died 10:30 pm Monday April 14, 2014 at The Madison, Fort Madison, Iowa. He was born March 17, 1938 at Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Frank and Aline (Davis) Griswold. On February 9, 1964, he married Jeanne Fullenkamp at West Point, Iowa. She survives.

He was a 1956 Fort Madison High School graduate. He was a veteran of the United States Army Reserve. For 41 years, he worked in banking, retiring from Farmers Savings Bank, Wever. He was a member of the Elks, Kiwanis, God's Portion Day chairman, Tri-State Rodeo chairman, and a board member of the Fort Madison Library. He was a member of the Holy Family Parish, and the Knight of Columbus. He loved traveling to Florida, golfing, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne Griswold, of Fort Madison, Iowa; three sons: Jay (Lisa) Griswold, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Roger (Lori) Griswold, of Fort Madison; Ryan (Faith) Griswold, of Rhode Island; three daughters: Vicky (Andy) Prosser, of West Des Moines, Iowa; Bobbi (Craig) Ahlen, of Fort Madison, Iowa; Cathy (Tom) Wilkens, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one brother, Sim Griswold, of Mequon, Wisconsin; two sisters: Linda (Dave) Eldridge, of New Boston, Illinois; Becky (Dave) Boley, of Marceline, Missouri; 15 grandchildren: Jamie, Nick, Emily, Jordan (Jenny), Cameron, Nicole, Patrick, Jenna, Heather, Sydni, Isaac, Anna, James, Noah, and Aidan; one great grandson, Graeme; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Richard Griswold.

Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Holy Family Parish, Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Madison, Iowa, with Father Mark P. Spring as Celebrant. His family will greet friends after mass at McAleer Hall across from the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Holy Trinity Catholic and Quincy Notre Dame, contributions may be made at the service at church or the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.
