Roberta Lynn Hamilton, 73, of Burlington, Iowa died at 6:29 pm Monday, September 25, 2023 at the Great River Hospice House, West Burlington, Iowa.  She was born October 12, 1949 in Burlington, a daughter of John and Hazel (Stratton) Petty.  On December 19, 1968, she married John A. Hamilton at Burlington. Roberta was a homemaker.  She enjoyed crocheting, scratch off tickets, bingo, visiting with friends and neighbors, and time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, John A. Hamilton of Burlington; four children: Yvette (Brian) Kennedy of Fort Madison, Iowa; John "Junior" Hamilton of Webster City, Iowa; Joseph (Mishelle) Hamilton of Marion, Iowa; and Tamara Geyer of Iowa City, Iowa; five siblings: Bill (Dianna) Petty of Wapello, Iowa; Richard Petty of Fort Madison; Marsha Petty of Davenport, Iowa; Claudia Petty and Brenda Larkin, both of Burlington; 9 grandchildren: Jonathan, Cody, Riley, Makayla, Joshua, Mollie, Katasha, Ivy, and Emmylia; four great grandchildren: Hunter, Fisher, Patricia, and Lucas; numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and four sisters: Sally, Connie, Linda, and MaryAnn.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Hamilton family.
