Ronnie Lee Vice, 74 years, of Burlington, Iowa died Monday, March 10, 2025 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House, W. Burlington, Iowa. He was born May 16, 1950 in Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Thomas W. "Tuff" and Margaret Joy (Bye) Vice. He was married to Shannon Janic and had children: Kristie and Shawna. They later divorced. He was married to Patricia Derosia and had children: Ronnie Jr. and Robert. They later divorced.
Ronnie grew up in Fort Madison, Iowa. He was a Military Police Vietnam Era Veteran for the United States Marines. He retired as a deputy sheriff in Springfield, Massachusetts. He loved traveling to Las Vegas and going to the casinos and attending concerts and shows. He enjoyed country/western music, going to the shooting range and spending time with his dog, Baron. He was a member of the American Legion Riders and the Patriot Guard, out of Des Moines, Iowa. Ronnie was extremely proud of God, Country and the United States Marine Corp.
He is survived by his special companion, that he was with for 18 years, Jenny Mendelson-Vice, of Stuart, Iowa; his children: Kristie Vice, of Florida; Shawna (Troy) Vice-Newmyer, of Texas; Ronnie (Billie Jo) Vice Jr., of Ludlow, Massachusetts and Robert (Maria) Vice, of Weymouth, Massachusetts; siblings: Larry Bye of Hannibal, Missouri; Dan (Joni) Vice of Fort Madison; Don (Wendy) Vice of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Rick (Sherri) Vice of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mark (Kim) Vice of Fort Madison; one sister-in-law, Jeannie Vice of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; six grandchildren, one great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Mike Vice, two sisters-in-law, Judy Bye and Margaret Bye and one grandchild.
Per his wishes, he will be cremated. Burial with Military Rites will be held at a 11:45 am Friday, April 11, 2025 at Soldiers Circle Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison. A Celebration of His Life will follow at the Eagles Club #1287, 4821 Ave O, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established and contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel. Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Ronnie Vice family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
