Roy John Nerhus, 51 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa died at 3:30 pm, March 18, 2012 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital, Fort Madison, Iowa. He was born February 6, 1961 at DeWitt, Iowa, a son of Reginald Sr. and Chris (Rowe) Nerhus. He married Lucy Bohnenkamp in 1981. They later divorced. He worked construction. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his parents, Reginald Sr. and Chris Nerhus, of Fort Madison, Iowa; one daughter, Rena Nerhus, of Iowa City, Iowa; one son, Brent Nerhus, of Burlington, Iowa; one brother, Reginald Nerhus, Jr., of Fort Madison, Iowa; two sisters, Faith Vazquez, of Fort Madison, Iowa and Fawn (husband David) Stephens, of Fort Madison, Iowa; nieces and nephews.

Per his wishes, his body has been cremated. An informal celebration of his life for family and friends will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the enclosed shelter house at Rodeo Park, Fort Madison, Iowa.
