Ruby Ellen Leggett was born September 5, 1927 at Keokuk, Iowa, a daughter of William Howard and Jessie May (Bailey) Riddle. She married Donald W. Soderstrom on April 19, 1945, they divorced. Later she married Shelby F. Leggett on September 18, 1976 in Quincy, Illinois.

Ruby was a homemaker. She and Shelby lived most of their marriage in Texas. They moved to Fort Madison in 2003.

At 82 years of age, she died at 7:38 am Monday, April 12, 2010 at the Fort Madison Community Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Shelby F. Leggett, of Fort Madison, Iowa; two daughters: Sharon (husband Jon) Little, of Fort Madison, Iowa and Donna Dringenberg, of Pekin, Illinois; one sister-in-law, Virginia Riddle, of Keokuk, Iowa; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Larry Soderstrom, and one brother Bill Riddle.

Per her wishes her body has been cremated. No formal services are planned.
