Ruthie M. Sundberg, 73 years, of Houston, Texas and formerly of West Point, Iowa died December 7, 2013 at her home. She was born June 22, 1940 at West Point, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Rosalia (Rung) Bohnenkamp. She married Dennis Sundberg. He preceded her in death.

Ruthie was born and raised in the West Point area. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, West Point. She and Dennis made there home in St. Paul, MN; Eugene, OR; Huntington Beach, CA; Phillipsburg, NJ; Stroudsburg, PA; and Houston, TX. She will always be remembered as CEO of the household. She had a contagious personality and she will never know how many lives she touched. She will be remembered by her loved ones and friends for her warm smile, laugh, cooking, and beating everyone at Scrabble.

She is survived by her children: Bryan Sundberg, Charlie Sundberg (wife Karen), Samuel Sundberg (wife Amy), Susan Hendry, and Cindy Olson (husband Larry); 11 grandchildren; one great granddaughter; three sisters: Viv Palmer, Nancy Beattie, and Sue Perry; and two brothers, Ronald Bohnenkamp and David Bohnenkamp. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Leslie Bohnenkamp.

Her body has been cremated. A graveside committal service and burial will be at 9:30 am Saturday, June 21, 2014 at the Calvary Cemetery, West Point, Iowa, with Reverend Dennis Hoffman, officiating.
