Stan Lee Greenwald was born December 2, 1956 at Fort Madison, Iowa, a son of Richard P. and Barbara Ann (Miller) Greenwald. Stan was a lifelong resident of the area. He attended Aquinas High School. He worked at Greenwald Supermarket and then at PSSI. He was Catholic. He enjoyed gardening, Nascar, hunting and hunting mushrooms. His nieces' were the center of his world. He was a generous and giving person.
At 53 years, he died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at his home. He is survived by three brothers: David (wife Carolyn) Greenwald, of Solsbury, IN; Jake Greenwald, of Fort Madison, IA; and Walter (wife Barbie) Greenwald, of Drums, PA; three sisters: Linda (husband Richard) Larkin, of Fort Madison, IA; Rose (husband Rich) Riley, of Denmark, IA; and Mary (husband Rob) Rogers, of Abingdon, IL; aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Tony Greenwald.
A Rosary will be recited at 5:30 pm Friday, April 16, 2010 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with the family greeting friends until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, with Reverend Troy Richmond, officiating. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Fort Madison. A memorial has been established for Lee County Conservation, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel.
