Timothy Michael Boyles, 71 years, of Fort Madison, Iowa, died at 1:05 pm Friday, December 19, 2014 at The Madison, Fort Madison, Iowa. He was born February 27, 1943 at Burlington, Iowa, a son of Bernard and Hazel (Johnson) Boyles.
He was a 1962 graduate of Fort Madison High School. He was veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a welder for JI Case for 31 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of UAW Local 807 and a 41 year member of the Sargeant Osweiler Post 563 American Legion in Bonaparte. He enjoyed traveling and scuba diving.
He is survived by one son, Jeffrey Boyles, of Bloomfield, Iowa; one daughter, Stephanie Asher, of Bonaparte, Iowa; two brothers, James Boyles, of Mediapolis, Iowa and Boyd Boyles, of West Burlington, Iowa; two granddaughters, Morgan Asher and Jaidyn Boyles; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, and two brothers.
His family will greet friends from 10:00 - 11:00 am Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, Iowa. A funeral for Mr. Boyles will follow and be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, with Pastor Bill Willis officiating. Burial with full military rites will be at the Oakland Cemetery, Soldiers Circle, Fort Madison, Iowa. A memorial has been established for Sargeant Osweiler Post 563 American Legion, Lee County Hospice, or American Diabetes Association, contributions may be made at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison.
