Tommy J. Marshall, 79, of Fort Madison, Iowa passed away Monday, February 2, 2026.  He was born January 24, 1947, a son of Thomas and Willieada Jewel (Hines) Marshall.

Tommy was a graduate of Fort Madison High School, and lived his whole life in the area.  He loved to sit at Riverview Park, and watch the water roll by, birds flying about, and just listen to music.  He enjoyed Sunday window shopping in the local car lots.  He had some Native American ancestry and was passionate and curious about genealogy and learning about the Native American culture.

Tommy had three children: Tracy Marshall of Des Moines, Iowa; Jason Crail of Fort Madison; and Rhegan Marshall (Michael Hightower) of Raytown, Missouri; three sisters: Trudy Humphrey of California, Serena James of Des Moines, Iowa, and Tina Nickens of Kansas City, Missouri; and one granddaughter Lashana Marshall.  He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Weldon Ward, Larry Marshall, and Doug Marshall, and one sister Janie Mae.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Fort Madison, with his funeral service to follow and begin at 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home with Reverend Tim Redd officiating.  Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery, Fort Madison.  Barr Memorial Chapel is honored to serve the Marshall family and an online guest book may be found at www.barrmemorialchapel.com.
