Our Beginnings
Our service to families reaches as far back as 1932, when Jack Barr worked for his aunt and uncle at the former Clements Funeral Home in Fort Madison. In 1958, Jack and Lila Barr, together with their son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Charlotte Barr built and established the Barr Memorial Chapel in Fort Madison. For years, a third generation of family, Tom and Deanna (Holtkamp) Barr carried on that tradition of service. Tom and Deanna have two beautiful children, Elizabeth and Joshua. Unfortunately, Tom died of cancer in 2023. Today, Deanna appreciates your support as she continues that long tradition of care to the community.
